A Few Words About Me

Since I can't know exactly what information you may find important in order to decide if I'm the right counselor for you, here's a little general background about me.

Over my career I've developed extensive experience helping people resolve a wide range of difficult life problems.  I want you to reach your goals, and I'll bring an active and engaging style of guidance, insight, support and feedback to help that to happen.

Individuals seek my help for anxiety, depression, addictions, relationship problems and many other life challenges.  Couples come to me to deepen their affection, improve their communication, rebuild damaged trust and achieve other goals related to a satisfying relationship.

An Atlanta Expert On Issues of Chronic Infidelity, Pornography Problems, Complex Betrayal and Sex Addiction

I also specialize in situations involving problematic sexual behaviors such as repeated infidelities, excessive pornography use and other patterns of sexual behavior that don't support a happy and healthy life.

In adddition to being a  Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT) I've authored professional articles on the topic and  serve on the editorial board of the journal Sexual Addiction & Compulsivity. I'm a former board member of the Society for the Advancement of Sexual Health (SASH) where I coordinated their national conference chair for three years and currently to serve as an adviser.  I'm known for pushing my profession to greater opportunities to help people.    I've helped develop a national training program to help mental health professionals learn how to better help people with problematic sexual behaviors.  My chapter in the book "Reflections on the History of the Sex Addiction Field" gives more information about my involvement in the historical development of this field.

I also have a strong interest in helping spouses and other partners of chronic sexual betrayers address and heal from the complex trauma of discovery and disclosure.  I'm the only Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT) in Atlanta who is also a Certified Clinical Partner Specialist through the Association of Partners of Sex Addicts Trauma Specialists (APSATS).

Since I have significant expertise in this specialized area I have more information about my approach to problematic sexual behavior.

I offer individual, couples and group counseling.  I can consult with people for just one meeting or over a much longer period, as needed in each individual situation.

Unparalleled Privacy, Comfort and Personalized Attention

While I help people from all walks of life, I'm able to offer an exceptional level of privacy for those in high profile or sensitive positions.  Upper level executives, physicians, attorneys, therapists, and public figures appreciate the discretion and heightened confidentiality of my convenient yet secluded office setting.  Our confidential conversations are protected by strong federal and state laws governing privileged communication.

I hope this brief description will help you decide whether I'm the right person for your specific needs. If you have any questions, or if you're ready to set up a time to meet in person to discuss what is happening in your life and how I can help, I welcome you to contact me directly.

-Bill
