Men's Psychotherapy Group Now Forming

Starting in January I am going to start another therapy group for men who struggle with sexual behavior that goes against their commitments, values and/or self-control. Many men with these struggles identify as sex addicts, but not all of them do and that is not necessary to participate or benefit from this powerful growth opportunity.

The weekly group will be take place on Thursday evenings from 7:30 to 9:00 PM. The maximum number of group members is 7. I ask for a minimum commitment of 12 weeks, although members are welcome to continue attending as long as they want. The cost is $60 per meeting. As is the case with most groups, you are expected to pay for your seat even for times you do not attend.

Men who have struggled to live consistently with sexual integrity often do very well in such a group format of mutual help. This is a forum to develop and deepen insight, gain and offer greater accountability, develop better self control, improve emotional self regulation, enhance communication about difficult topics, heal from the legacy of past wounds, reduce shame, give and receive support, and experience life with greater character, conviction and courage.

If interested in attending I need to meet with you at least once to make sure the fit is a strong one. There is nothing quite as effective as a well-functioning therapy group and the selection of members is very important for this to occur.

I have four other men's groups with the same focus, and I have seen the profound and lasting benefit from this opportunity to be honest with other men. I help move the conversation along and insure that people are getting the most out of the experience. Some of my other group clients also attend 12-step meetings for sexual behavior such as Sex Addicts Anonymous, and they report that my groups offer a level of support and feedback that they don't often receive in those other forums.

Let me know if you are interested in exploring this option for your healing and personal growth.
